Ms. Communications

Amazon
Ms. Communications by Myra Kindrix

When I first started this book, I wasn't sure I was going to like it. But, I kept reading and am glad I did. At first I thought her boss, Jake, was just a jerk. But, I very quickly began to think he had Asperger's, which is considered a milder form of autism. Having two people close to me who live like this everyday, I could totally relate to Jake, and everyone's frustration with him. And sure enough, Asperger's comes up in reference to Jake later in the book.
I would not call this a romance novel, yet it was about romance. But, it's not your normal romance. So readers expecting that might be disappointed. And, Jake's character was so spot on with the cluelessness of social cues, the inability to see how their actions effect others, and the struggle to try to do these things, was so realistic that it makes me wonder if Ms. Kindrix doesn't also have someone in her life like this. You really do have to get to know them to know that they do care and have feelings. The things that bother most people often don't bother them, or they just aren't aware of how others feel. They will often know there is a problem, but be totally clueless of what it is. Direct communication is definitely necessary. I often think it might be harder for them. They are so close to normal, that people immediately see their social faux pas as rudeness and coldness.

This is Ms. Kendrix first book, and I could tell. This in no way is meant to be negative. The fact that it is her first book, yet she was able to spin such a witty, different, crucially complex story is something I applaud. If she's starting out this good, it will only get better, and I can't wait to read more. This may not be for everyone as it's not your typical romance. But, it is a light, easy read that has a great anylitically minded story line. Before I really got into the book, and figured out what was happening, I wanted to give it 2 stars. Then, it jumped to 3. Then 3 1/2. And by the middle it had found its way to 4 stars from me. A story worth reading.

Cop On Her Doorstep

Cop On Her Doorstep by Karen Docter

This book warmed my heart with such a moving and sweet story. This was truly an amazing story of facing fear, facing the past, and moving forward. Jake stands for everything Carrie fears and blames her past on, but can she  resist the feeling he provokes? Jake lives and breathes for his job and is not looking for a relationship, until he finds himself on the doorstep of his neighbor. But, can he get her to see past his job and see him?
Karen Docter has written a great story with characters you can't help but love, cheer on, and take on their emotions. This is the first book I have read from this author and it WILL NOT be the last. Her writing just pulls you in and makes you feel. I can't wait to read more.

Pulled Under

Pulled Under by Sarah Darlington
**Release date September 1, 2015**

Every book I read by Sarah Darlington I just fall in love with. Rhett is the manwhore, the one that has a different girl every night, but could one girl change that? Could one kiss change everything? Sydney who has loved Ben from afar for years finds out one day that Ben has died, and now she is looking for a distraction. Rhett Morgan seems like just the guy for the night to distract her.
I loved this story. All these characters including the background characters (who I have fallen in love with in previous books) are great. I was completely wrapped into the story and the emotions, feeling every emotion with the character. Sarah has a way of writing that will pull you into the characters world and live through everything with them.

I really enjoyed this book. This was full of bad guys, wild chases, and funny situations. I really enjoyed each of the characters and the story itself. I laughed out loud when Miranda got caught under the office desk by Jake Barnes. This was a wonderful little cozy mystery. I loved all the twists and turns. This was just a really nice, easy read. It was entertaining and engaging. This was the first book in this series and the first I've read by this author. I really look forward to reading more from this author.
The narrator was also very good. She really brought the story to life. Her character voices were awesome.

Line of Sight

Line of Sight by Derek Thompson

This is a British Suspense Thriller. I must say that this book is one of my favorite in it’s genre by far. I absolutely loved reading it and am honored to have been asked to. Giving this book five stars was easy and I couldn’t have possibly given it a lower score. It had all the attributes a great suspense thriller should have and more.
The author, Derek Thompson, had me hooked from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the last word on the very last page. He is excellent in describing the characters and his wording made the story so vivid that it is out of this world. Twists and turns will keep a reader engaged waiting to see what happens next.
I can easily recommend this book and this author to any reader who enjoys a great page turning read that keeps the audiences attention.

Jersey Justice by Vinnie Sorce

Ths book is an organized crime suspense book that is nothing like I’ve ever read. If I could have given more than a five star review for this book I would have. This author kept me on my toes the entire way. It’s a very detailed story and I couldn’t help, but to love the plot. The characters felt so real to me, as a reader, that it was as though they could have been real people instead of characters in a story. This happened to be something that I found that I loved about this book. I felt as though I was there experiencing every page first hand.
Jimmy Vincent, one of the characters, happened to be another one of my favorite parts of the book. I absolutely loved him as a character in whole. The author is very talented as a writer, and I can’t wait to see what is next. This book is by far one of my favorite reads this year. I could see myself reading it again just to be pulled back into the story one more time.

Save My Place by Olivia deBelle Byrd

This is a wonderful and beautiful love story. Giving this book five stars was easy for me to give as I enjoyed the story and the characters a lot. The author wrote the story beautifully and with so much talent. It’s a love story that once it has been read will be remembered over and over. Olivia deBelle Byrd out done herself with this book and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next.
The story itself is well thought out and the characters wrote so that the story flows with them to the end. It’s a page turner and an attention grabber from the beginning. I can easily say that I am recommending this book to any romance reader, or romantic at heart to enjoy. After reading this book I can honestly say it has a taken place at my top fifteen favorite romance reads.

Falling ***Book of the Month***

Falling (Negative Ion Series book 1) by: Ryanne Anthony

This book is the first book in this incredible series. Now, I haven’t read the books to follow this one, but after not being able to pull myself away from this one, I want to. I rate my reviews on a scale of 1-5, and I must say I couldn’t give this book anything less than 5 stars. From page one it grabbed my attention and held on. I found myself quickly falling in love with the two main characters Kimber (Itsy), and Jaxen.
Throughout the book I felt a series of emotions right along with the characters. I’ve laughed, cried, found myself angry, and at some point wanted to reach through the book to grab a hold of a character in particular. It was a rollercoaster of emotions that only great books, and astounding authors can make a reader feel.
Ryanne Anthony out done herself with this book and I can’t wait to read what she has coming next. The ending of the book left me wanting more, and you better believe I’m going to grab the next book when it comes out. I’m so very grateful that the author gave me the opportunity to read this book. I highly recommend this book to everyone, especially, if you want to read a book that you will never forget.

WOW!! I am in complete shock! I was not expecting that ending at all. That completely threw me for a loop. Okay, I have to say I absolutely loved this book and instantly fell in love with the characters. From the first page to the last, I was so wrapped up in the story I literally read the whole book in one sitting while at work only stopping to when I actually had to work. As soon as I finished whatever I had to do, I was right back in the story. Ryanne Anthony writes an amazing story that just sucks you in and just when you think you know what is going to happen, think again, she throws a twist at you. Definitely an amazing read and I cannot wait until I can read the next one.

Marla's Review: **** 4 Stars
This book was raw and edgy. It totally grabbed my interest from the beginning. I would have loved to see the pacing evened out more, or maybe the scenes to be more fleshed out. But, hey, Ryanne Anthony knows how to spin an engaging story. I read the book through in almost 1 sitting because I didn't want to put it down. I loved the characters, even Jaxen, who clearly has some issues. I'm still not clear what exactly Jaxen's issues stem from. He and his sister seem to have a love hate relationship. And, this makes the dynamics of the story that much more interesting. The characters are so...out there? in some ways, yet at the same time so real. The whole cast almost reminded me of the crazy neighbors who always seemed to have some fascinating drama going on. They're all really nice, so you can't complain about them. But, you scratch your head at how the neighborhood professor or surgeon has these wild but nice kids.
I really also enjoyed Kimber's mom. She felt very down to earth and real to me. The love story between Jaxen and Kimber, however, takes center stage and it's not an easy one. Jaxen can be such a sweetheart and such a jerk. Yet, I found myself rooting for them and wanting them to work things out. They clearly love each other, though it's not totally clear to me why Jaxen messes things up at one point. I have my assumptions, but I'm not sure.
This is definitely a page turner and I look forward to finding out what's next in the complicated world of Negative Ion.

Lorraine's Review **** 4 Star
Loved this one, loved the two main characters. I liked Jaxen right from the start, and right up until he hurt Kimber, not physically but verbally.
Apart from Jaxen and Kimber there were several other engaging minor characters, and I hope to see more of them in the series.
I would thoroughly recommend this to anyone wanting a light, enjoyable read. Speaking of enjoyable, the sex scenes were hot!
I felt like I was on a rollercoaster, just like Kimber’s emotions. The ending was totally unexpected but I can understand it. I am just grateful that there will be another book in this series.

Homeschooled or Not?

Homeshcooled or Not? by Paul Perez
Narrated by Michelle Babb
Unabridged Audio, 40 min

As someone who homeschooled my own children, I found this very informational. For anyone trying to decide on whether or not to homeschool, this is a great starting point. As is said in the book, you don't have to know everything, you just need to know where to find the information you need. The only thing not mentioned here are charter schools. Homeschooling and resources and environments vary. I was lucky enough to live in a homeschool rich environment. There are multiple homeschooling networks more than happy to answer any questions you might have. That is where I'd start. However, this little guide is great to get you pointed in the right direction.

I must say, I really enjoyed this story. It was a novella, which usually feel rushed to me. But, so wasn't. I loved the character development, throughout. It had a sensual quality throughout, but left you wanting to find out more about what was going on between Emily and Devlin. This was the first book I read by this author, but will not be the last. She grabbed me from the beginning and I was pulled into the story.

The narrator, Kristyl, was a pleasure to listen to. Her voice is rich and her flow is on point, as was the different character voices. Very talented. You don't feel like you are listening to someone read, but rather are able to visualize the story in your mind. She has a nice, rich tone. Just a pleasure all the way around.

The Alpha's Daughter: The Wolvers, Book 3

The Alpha's Daughter: The Wolvers, Book 3
• Written by Jacqueline Rhoades,  Narrated by Holly Adams
• Length: 12 hrs and 34 mins, Unabridged Audiobook

o Series: The Wolvers, Book 3  Publisher: Jacqueline Rhoades

This book is my favorite of the series with one smart mouth sassy lady who can kick some tail with her hands behind her back. This is full of action as Jazz is put to the test to find her strength and her place in the world. There is nothing better or stronger than a father’s love but when that father is evil and thinks you are good for nothing but matting to better his pack as he puts you up for sale to the highest bidder is so wrong. Jazz will not stand for it as she goes on the run for her life she is sure if her father finds her he will kill her before he lets her walk away.

Jazz has so much going for her from her sassy mouth to her fighting skills she has learn from the best and will not back down. Jazz is not your run of the mill women with her blue hair and a very foul-mouthed which adds so much to this wonderful character. I fell in love with her as soon as she opened her mouth and took on the bikers in a fight when they thought she was a little bit of nothing. Oh the plans they had for her but she had some of her own. She was sent to the town Gilead to contact a man who will help her get to a safe pack. What she finds is a small run down town, bikers who attack her and one mean looking man that she finds is her contact. When she is attacked he comes to her rescue little does he know she needs no help. Oh the words they have, she is ready to move on which isn’t going to be easy as she finds out she has lost everything to her name. She is left with little to do but to go with Doc Goodman who looks more bear than wolf. They are at each other’s throats from the start along with the pull of attraction. She is shocked to find that men do not treat women cruel but love and protect them. Things happen that leaves her with little choice but to stay in this small town in a house that is ready to fall down. She and Doc just do not get along at all which makes this an outstanding read as they come head to head on a few issues locking horns which leaves you wondering who will come out the winner.

Doc Goodman he is a little rough around the edge but cleans up well. He has had a hard time of it as he moved to Gilead to hide out from his past. He isn’t looking for a mate he is just helping the good wolves there putting in time until he dies. That is until the spitfire hell cat comes to town and turns his world upside down with her fowl mouth and sassy ways. What did he ever do to have to put up with the likes of her? I really adored Doc he is a very caring man with many years of hurt and pain deep inside of him. He always puts the pack first and doctors for free or food. You are so going to love the mess he gets his self in as he just tries his best to put one foot in front of the other. The is so much of a pull between him and Jazz he is running as fast as he can running the other way. What he would really like to do is pick her up shake her and then throw the lip lock on her. What he does do is push her away as he tries to out run his past.

Holly Adams brings so much this story as she gives a wonderful voice to this outstanding read. She hits each tone as she makes you feel the sadness, pain, joy, humor and love of this pack. Her wonderful many voices gives so much. You have no trouble understanding who is talking and what their emotion is. There are a few places when she goes into a new chapter that the volume is a little higher but it doesn’t take away from the listen. This is a story I will be listening to again with the wonderful humor she gives each character just pulls you in. I found things around the house to do just so I could listen to this audio a little longer. Listening to Holly tell this story there were parts I wanted to cry it is so heartbreaking and other times I found myself laughing. Holly did a wonderful outstanding job with the narration I doubt you could go wrong listening to anything she narrators.

The author gives you two characters that have so much to learn each are trying to get by out running their past but together they make a complete pair if only they would see it. Neither want to mate but they won’t say no to a little action. Sometimes the heart gets in the way it just isn’t that easy to walk away from something you find you want more than anything. As in all the books in this series the author gives you wonderful characters you can relate to as she gives you tales filled with humor that will keep you laughing saying you go girl or oh yes tell it like it is. She covers some series issues such as abuse, she does it well as her characters help others and give back to the pack. I adore the alpha male and his mate as they go through trying times there are times my heart breaks for them as well as many other of the characters in this book. I have never really enjoyed this genres but this author makes me wish I could be part of this pack. She gives you wonderful characters and OHHHHH so much action as each member will have to fight to keep this pack together. Things are not always as they seem as the author puts some major twist to give you a one of a kind outstanding read. You are going to love this book as well as this series. If this isn’t your type of read I would still recommend you give it a try she just might turn you as she did me. I cannot wait to see where the author takes the rest of this series as she gives you a tale of lost, pain, hurt, finding yourself with a well written wonderful story of love of the best kind.

Beneath Montana's Sky

Beneath Montana's Sky: A Montana Sky Novella
Written by
Debra Holland, Narrated by: Lara Asmundson
Length: 4 hrs and 40 mins
Unabridged Audiobook

This was a delightful prequel to the Montana’s series. I fell in love with this series and the mail-order brides series from the first audio I listened to. The early years of our country have always been a time frame I would liked to have visit. Ms. Holland always brings it back to light and gives me a wonderful tale of how it could have been. John has decided he needs help raising his godson with few women in Montana he decides to go to Boston to see if he can find a woman to marry that he might come to love. There are two women that catch his eye but only one really stands out. Pamela might be plain timid, but she is just what he needs to bring his life back in order. Through some misunderstanding it looks like he might be going home alone. With that worked out and a rushed courtship they are on their way to start their new life. Once they get to Montana and Pamela sees the cowboys as they scare the crap out of her she is ready to rush to the train before it takes off. This is when the story gets interesting as they deal with the issues of living together, helping Nick the godson find his way and a lot of unruly cowboys who need a few lesson in manners.

Lara Asmundson did a great job with the narration her voice was very clear. It was a delight to hear her many voices you always know who is saying what. She does a great job from going to male to female as she brings this story to life. She made me chuckle and at times laugh. Her cute meow for the kitten put a smile on my face. The only issue I had with this audio was some kind of background hum it wasn’t an echo but more of a buzz. I even tried to lower the volume but it didn’t make a difference. As the audio went along I didn’t notice it not sure if it went away or if I was so much into the story. I did enjoy it so much that I am so looking forward to listening to more of her work.

Pamela is a wonderful character someone you can relate to as she goes through the trials of moving to a new place so different than what she is use to. She is strong and sweet takes things as they come and gives her all. Her heart goes out to Nick as she brings him around and helps him get over the loss of his family. I really had to laugh when she saw the cowboys and grabbed John’s hand trying to pull him back on the train before it took off and left them with these wild cowboys who are showing off. She makes the most of it even bring those wild cowboys into hand getting them to do what she wants without bulling them. She is just a delightful woman that has class.

John is a wonderful giving man falls fast and hard for Pamela he is heart broken when he thinks he will have to leave her behind. He does the best he can for everyone on his ranch giving so much. He is so happy with his new bride as she takes over making every one’s life on the ranch a better place. He has some things he must overcome but things are working out wonderful for him and his ranch. You have to love a man who is so caring and loving along with so giving. Yep he is a keeper for sure.

You know when you see Ms. Holland name it is going to be a wonderful story. She brings so much to the pages giving you a very believable wonderful story. She is an outstanding author that always gives you a compelling read. I forget I am reading a book as I get lost in one of her stories. I love how she bring life to Montana bring the past to the future giving you a story you can get lost in. I am always sad for the book to end. Her audio’s are outstanding I try very hard never to miss one. Her words flows easy as I listen to the audios I get a lot of things done that I put off. Listening to this story makes things easy to get done you forget you are working as they author and narrator take you away to another place and time. I have to look at all the things I got done and think wow I did all that, doesn’t it look good. I could never give enough prays to the pleasure I get out of one of her stories. If you haven’t read or listen to any of this author’s book you really should. I can promise you there is always a few laughs and smiles waiting for you.

Fall for Him

Fall for Him by J.C. Valentine
*Release day August 25, 2015*

As with the first two books in this series, I was totally engrossed by the first page. Completely felt for Joe. For me there is no denying the Rebel's feeling and what he wants, but other people have other plans and do all they can to keep Joe and Rebel apart. This book and series is completely full of anticipation of what is going to come next. J.C. Valentine out did herself with this one. I had the constant thought of what was going to happen next to the point it I could not put it down. I had to know.

I absolutely love Joe and Rebel together. They have to go through some ups and downs with a twist or two along the way, but the question is can they make it to the other side?

Ink by Melanie Karsak

Ink by Melanie Karsak

I have to start by saying this is not my genre. Still, I really enjoyed this story. This is a novella, yet I felt the story was developed and not rushed. I liked Ink's strong character, the vivid descriptions of the mer world. Ink, our protagonist, is thrust into a very difficult situation, but tries to work as fairly as she can to save her people while constantly dealing with betrayal. I particularly loved the scene where Ink transforms from a mermaid to a "dry walker". The authors description of what Ink went through was as believable as anyone could imagine. Very creative.
The story is told from Ink's point of view, and we feel all of her strength, angst, and heart as she maneuvers through the treacherous world she's been thrust into. Vivid characters, engaging story, and wonderfully realistic world. Readers in this genre should totally enjoy this story, as well as those who don't normally read this genre.

The Falling of Hope

The Falling of Hope by Marisa Oldham
***Release day August 28, 2015***

There are no words.....amazing, phenomenal, all consuming, great, absolutely stunning - none of these words even come close to describing the greatness of not only this book, but the whole series. I am so sad to see it end, but couldn't be happier at the ending and to see these characters find their way. This book, just like the first two, completely and unremorsefully ripped my heart out, shattered it, and somehow completely put it back together. Emotional rollercoaster does not even begin to cover the emotions I went through. I would more say an emotional rollercoaster that I rode at least 10 times and at the end wanted to do it all over again.

These characters have such a special place in my heart, that they have become my friends and I'm actually a little lost now that I've had to say goodbye. If you have read the first two books, I already know you will read and love this one. If you have not read this series yet, I highly recommend you do it now. Chasing The Girl in Red

Chasing The Girl In Red by Jean Russell

Chasing The Girl In Red is an amazing Paranormal Suspense that I enjoyed reading immensely. I would have been more than happy to have given this wonderful book 5 stars, but the copy I was provided had been poorly edited. Other than that the book blew my mind.
The author is an amazing writer that griped me through out the story. I loved the character Samantha and felt that I never had to guess how she felt, because she was completely open about it. The other character Ace was described in such detail I could just picture him down to his personality.
The way the book was wrote sets it apart from other paranormal suspense stories and this one even had some steamy moments that had my eyes glued to the page. I loved this book and am even recommending it to my readers as well as close friends of mine. I’m honored to have been chosen to read review Jean Russell’s book. I urge all lovers of this genre to grab a copy and sink in for a book that won’t let go of you once it has it’s hooks in.

My Wicked Marquess

My Wicked Marquess by Gaelen Foley

I was twice surprised by this book from Gaelen Foley. I originally thought it was a new release, but found it was an older book newly released in audio that I hadn't heard about, so it was new to me. Having read Ms. Foley before, I was also surprised by how different it felt than her other work I have read. This is a series in which it's not just the story of one couple and then continues on with a story about another character from a previous book, which I also love. But, this is a true serial, in which part of the story is completed, but more remains to be revealed. In this story we are treated to Max and Daphne. Max is quite likable from the beginning. Daphne tends to be unreasonable at times which makes for some humorous situations for the reader and frustrating ones for Max. She's so determined not to attach herself to a man that can't open himself completely to her, that she often has Max feeling more frustrated and confused than resistant. We follow their story from their meeting to their happily ever after. However, we are introduced to the inferno club, and all of its secrets are not revealed. It left me wanting to know more about the inferno club and glad book 2 is already available.
The narrator, Annette Chown, did a wonderful job. I was left with a question about Drake's mother. At times it sounded as though his mother spoke with a Jamaican lilt. It did not detract. It just made me wonder if she'd grown up, or spent some time their. It was interesting to hear. I don't yet know Drake's story. Ms. Chown did a great job bringing these characters to life and expressing the story itself.

by Michelle Lynn

OMG! The author has saved the best for last with this third and final book in the Dawn of Rebellion series.

I found all three books easy to read with each chapter titled with the name of the character who is telling the story. Drew was my favorite, but I think Lee has now surpassed him. Ms. Lynn has done a wonderful job of bringing these young brave characters to life.

So much happens in this one. It carried me along throughout the emotional ride, and I’m not ashamed to admit it had me in tears near the end. Well done Ms. Lynn, your YA dystopian series had me gripped from the first chapter of book 1.

The Medium Path

The Medium Path by Elizabeth Davies

Upon reading The Medium Path, by Elizabeth Davies, I decided to give my review score of five stars. It’s a paranormal romance unlike any other, and a must read for all fans of fiction.
The author wrote this book with a lot of imagination and I couldn’t stop reading. Each page captured my interest and wouldn’t let go. It had a little something for everyone in my opinion. There was of course paranormal romance, but also something very steamy.
The characters have been written as though they really exist and I felt as though I was with them the entire way. Not only do I give this book five stars, but I also recommend it for any fiction reader.
With an author as talented and imaginative as I found her to be I can’t wait to see what she has coming next. Elizabeth Davies is now of one of my favorite authors to follow.

Reluctant

                                      Reluctant by Marla Josephs

First and foremost, I must say that I absolutely loved this book. It’s a wonderfully well written contemporary romance. I have to say at first when I began reading it started out a little sad, but then it quickly picked up and took the story to new heights. I fell in love with Marla Josephs characters, Fallon and Reid. The title Reluctant fits the book so well. As in the story I felt as though Fallon could be reluctant at times, and then as well with Reid. Although Reid, at first, didn’t seem very reluctant. Actually, at first he seemed the opposite and I had him pegged for an egotistical womanizer, but my mind was quickly changed. It left the saying “appearance aren’t always as they seem” as the real deal.
As a reader and reviewer I have to recommend this book. I would be crazy if I didn’t and I’m not crazy. The story flowed well and left no gaps, or questions to be asked. Everything was covered and covered well. Marla Josephs is a wordsmith that will have you eating out of her hand as she leads through the book.
If I had to choose one thing I didn’t like about this book it would be that I hated it to end. The characters are realistic and the story completely down to earth. It was as though I was following the characters through their events of every day life. If your a romantic at heart you have to get your copy of this book.

Apocalypse Soldier (Occult Assassin #2)

This book was even better than the first! More action, deeper story. Our main character, Mark, comes up against his nemesis. It grabs you in the beginning and doesn't let up until the end. Hard to put down. This one, I will listen to again. Mark's drive for vengeance fuels him and keeps him focused as he racks up the body count in his fight against evil. Good, good, good! The narration was even better. The first one was great too, but in this one, he really settles into the story and characters.

Hard Ball

                                 Hardball by Lorraine Lovit

WOW!! Best book yet!!! This was an amazing hot and sexy read. I was completely drawn into it from the first page. I loved watching where Brendon and Suzie’s relationship is going. I will say this one was an emotional ride for me. Watching Suzie grow as a person with so much happening, she is rightfully scared and emotional, but she is strong. Brendon, Brendon, Brendon – one minute I love him, the next I hate him, and then there are those in between times. He is truly the alpha male, so got to love him in the end. I can’t wait for the next book and to see what happens.

Cupidity

                                                                Cupidity by Patricia Wood

This was a fun read, experiencing the small town girl dealing with the trials and tribulations thrown at her. Our main character, Tammy, just seemed gullible at first. But, she ended up being a very kind hearted person with a lot more depth than I expected. And, what appeared to be gullibility turned out not to be. Her brother was also a very interesting character. I really enjoyed the way the writer wrote these characters. They felt very real. They reminded me of some of the people I met when visiting a small town in Texas. The main character was very positive, and I really liked that to. Overall, I thought the book was funny and quite entertaining.

I listened to the audio version of this book. The narrator, Michelle Babb, also did a good job. Her performance was perfect for the story. The book is quirky and she reads it with the necessary quirk. Very enjoyable performance.

Away

Away by B. A. Wolfe

Away completely shattered me. I literally cried so hard. This story broke my soul. There are not enough stars I could give this book to tell you how amazing it is. Oh the feelings and emotions. BA Wolfe has written a story that will ingrain itself into your soul. These characters are truly breath taking, that is the only way I know how to describe them. They will amaze you, capture your heart, and make you truly feel. Definitely a must read!!

Cut and Run

Cut And Run by Amy Elizabeth

This was a very interesting book. If I had to classify it, I would say it was a coming of age story by so much more. Our main character, Rebecca, flees her less than desirable home life for the summer before heading off to college in the fall. This didn't feel completely fictitious, but more like watching the events unfold for a few months in this young woman's life as she tries to find her way. In some instances, it seemed unbelievable, yet not unrealistic in my opinion, the freedoms that this young woman had at such a young age. However, having known individuals with less than desirable backgrounds, I have seen them have many more freedoms than is normal for others there age who have someone looking out for them. At times, she made what could be called "dumb decisions" yet they were what could be expected from someone so young. However, the interesting part was watching her recognize and struggle with those decisions and try to make things right as she tried to navigate and make her way. The danger and other bits of obvious fiction with the light mystery part of the book made things interesting and entertaining. I found overall that I liked the main character and all of the others as well.
The narrator added nicely to this book. She captured the essence of each character and did a great job of bringing them to life. Overall, an enjoyable read.
